When a couple is having trouble conceiving, the first thing specialists generally will look at is the fertility of the father. What do you think they would be looking for – give at least 2 suggestions and explain why each could be an issue.

    1. Malformed sperm: It is relatively common that sperm are produced with a "curved" tail which causes the sperm to swim in circles, therefore never travel up the female reproductive system to fertilize the egg.

    2. Lack of sperm: There are various reasons (such as physical trauma) that would cause a low or non-existent sperm count. No sperm = No babies.
